Founded in 1991 as the Trinidad and Tobago Amateur Gymnastics Association (TTAGA) received government recognition in 1993.
In October 2010 TTAGA changed its name and now referred to as the Trinidad and Tobago Gymnastics Federation (TTGF), a non-profit registered company and the sole national governing body for the sport of gymnastics in Trinidad and Tobago.
This designation comes from the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC), the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs (MSYA) and the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). TTGF is also affiliated to the Pan American Gymnastics Union (PAGU).
TTGF sets the rules and policies that govern gymnastics in Trinidad and Tobago.
TTGF has many responsibilities, including; promoting and developing gymnastics on a grassroots and national level; educating and certifying coaches, and judges throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
The TTGF has programs in women’s and men’s artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, and gymnastics for all.
It is good to know that there is a gymnastic federation in Trinidad.
